A Moving Experience

Mon Mar 23, 2009, 11:37 AM
It's been an exhausting two weeks.
Lin (my partner) and I decided to move to a house in a place called Cwmfelinfach. I never thought I'd ever live in 'the valleys' but it's not too deep in (or too high up!) and certainly not too far from my beloved Cardiff.
We only had three days to move our stuff out of our previous place, so it's been very tiring - especially with a difficult flight of steps leading to the front door - and we couldn't have done it without Lin's daughter's and her boyfriend Rick's help.
Anyway, the views are very pretty and dramatic, and the air is fresh.
All we have to do now is finish clearing out my mother's house, but that will have to wait until I return from a trip to Estonia, which is where I'm writing this update to my deviantArt journal.
I'm here to pay some bills on a house we own here, and catch up with friends and relatives - and to enjoy the sun and snow, of course!
I'm full of creative ideas (and a bit of a cold I think) at present, and it's just a case of getting settled in our new place before I can put them into practice.
So many of the 'loose ends' I'd been worrying about at the beginning of the year are being tied up one by one that I'm starting to feel a little excited about life again, and that can't be a bad thing.

A young man said to me:
I am interested in the problem of reality.

I said: Really!
Then I saw him turn to glance, surreptitiously, in the big mirror, at his own fascinating shadow.

It's alright :peace:

It's obvious life's not meant to be plain sailing. Someone very wise (I think) said - 'it's the struggle that makes us stronger' - but I'm not that convinced at the moment.

Some days, I don't believe that either.
But to quote a few cliches....there's light at the end of the tunnel; evey cloud has a silver lining etc,etc
Just hang in there, otherwise how will you know?

No problemo; liked the theatricality of the image - you should do more like it. :salute:

yeah I could. I'm all melodramatic anyway ^^

I understand - I used to be a bit of a drama-queen myself, but I'm happily low-key now - one of the benefits (though there aren't many) of ageing.
